Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Recreation Supervisor I to join the dynamic team at Lovell Community Center. Responsibilities include planning, programming, developing, organizing, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating comprehensive recreation services provided through the assigned divisions, which may include aquatics, athletics, youth enrichment, special events, amphitheater programming, teens, community health and wellness, adults, and the community centers. This position will be assigned the responsibility of overseeing the welcome desk operations, childcare services, massage therapy services, and instructional programming.

Requirements
Directly supervises staff which may include full time and/or part time employees, volunteers and contract professionals for recreation programs, classes, facilities and events as assigned. Recommends actions related to hiring, disciplinary actions, advancement, or other changes in employee status. Responsible, with direction and oversight, for the preparation, administration and monitoring of the assigned budget(s).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Parks and Recreation Administration or a related field required; at the discretion of the Department, directly related work experience may be substituted for education at the rate of three years of directly related work experience per one year of education.
- Experience working in the field of Parks and Recreation or related field preferred.
- Basic first aid, CPR and AED certification required within three (3) months of date of hire.
- Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred.
