Full-time position available with the Parks & Recreation Department-Recreation Division
Pay Range: Starting at $20.88 per hour
Work Location: Tony Aguirre Community Center, 2050 W. Pennway
Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday, 12:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Friday & Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
What you’ll do
Oversees the development and implementation of a diversified program curriculum for all ages and abilities in accordance with community needs.
Oversees the activities of PT staff and volunteers.
Monitors PT staff duties.
Provides input to supervisor for employee performance evaluations.
Serves as a liaison and resource for community agencies and other organizations; performs community outreach to promote programs and stimulate interest in department offerings.
Assists supervisor with program development and management.
Performs administrative tasks, such as attending meetings, preparing reports, monitoring expenditures, and maintaining records.
Assists in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and staff training for program areas.
Receives and responds to questions and concerns from registered participants and guardians.
Performs routine facility maintenance and logistics, including but not limited to, the setup and tear down of tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies.
Provides communication and written documentation regarding all recreation program areas and facility activities, including, but not limited to, damages, problems, needs, issues, and compliance with rental agreements, policies, and procedures.
Monitors and inspects facilities, supplies, and equipment for safety and security.
Monitors inventory, supply order requests, and maintains purchase records.
Reviews records and files to ensure proper accounting and documentation consistent with City policies and procedures.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRES
An accredited Bachelor's degree; OR high school graduation and 4 years of experience in recreation management, community programming, sports management, wildlife management, arts programming, or therapeutic recreation.
Must pass a preemployment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
May be required to possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
